Design of a courtyard, at Kongens Nytorv in central Copenhagen, Denmark
The European Environment Agency at Kongens Nytorv wanted to transform its yard, with more flexible and aesthetic accommodations for staff uses, official events and the venues entrance. Floating large containers with forest-inspired plantings are placed on the asfalt surface on which a white thermoplastic pattern light up the narrow space. Inspiration for the graphic design comes from characteristic ferns germinating rolls and can be experienced at different scale from the windows above or at groundlevel. Finally, spread loose colourful tables soften the shadded yard, which with a joyful urban garden atmosphere.
