Design of the inner yard of an institution for older people in Østerbro, Copenhagen, Denmark
The building is circular and encounters a new residential area by raging west into a green landscape that descends towards Rovsingsgade. Inside the circle is located a single common atrium, where a wooden terrace ranges from facade to facade. Five colored plant boxes and multi-stem magnolia trees slide through the wooden floor, among which loose tables and chairs can be used for relaxing and chatting. The walls are covered with climbing hydrangeas that complete a lush garden atmosphere where colours and plants are put in play to light up the narrow courtyard and create colourfull views of the windows.
